Android TV · beginner walk-through

Install on Android TV

⏱ About 5 minutes 📦 No computer needed 📞 Help at every step

Works on Walmart Onn, Chromecast with Google TV, NVIDIA Shield, Tivo Stream, and any Android TV-branded device. The steps are almost identical to Fire TV, just a different store.

1

Get the Downloader app from the Play Store

step 1 of 6

Press the Home button on your remote.

Open the Play Store (or "Apps" on Google TV).

Search for Downloader by AFTVnews.

Tap Install. Wait for it to finish.

Tap Open.

2

Allow Downloader to install apps (one-time setting)

step 2 of 6

The first time you try, Android TV will ask "Allow this source to install apps?", say Yes / Allow.

If it doesn't ask, go to Settings (⚙)AppsSecurity & restrictionsUnknown sources. Find Downloader and turn it on.

You only do this once. Android TV will remember.

Don't see "Unknown sources" / Developer options?

On most Android TV devices Developer Options is hidden until you tap Build number 7 times. Path varies by manufacturer:

Walmart Onn (Google TV): Settings → System → About → [click Build 7×] → back out → System → Developer Options → Unknown sources / Install unknown apps.

Chromecast with Google TV: Settings → System → About → [click Android TV OS build 7×] → back → System → Developer options → Install unknown apps.

NVIDIA Shield: Settings → Device Preferences → About → [click Build 7×] → back → Device Preferences → Developer options → toggle for Downloader.

Sony Bravia (Android TV): Settings → Device Preferences → About → [click Build 7×] → Device Preferences → Developer options → Unknown sources.

Mi Box / Xiaomi: Settings → Device Preferences → About → [click Build 7×] → Developer options.

Tivo Stream 4K: Same path as Onn / Google TV above.

If nothing changes after 7 taps, reboot (Settings → System → Restart) and try again, the menu appears on next boot.

Stuck on a generic Android stick (no Play Store)?

If your device is an AOSP stick without Google services, install Downloader via APK Time or AppLinked, they ship preinstalled on most of those.

Boxes with FilelinkedX2 / AppLinked: Open it, enter store code 28734, find Downloader, install.

Sideload Launcher already installed: Use it to launch your device's built-in Play Store substitute.

3

Enter our code in Downloader

step 3 of 6

Open Downloader. Click the URL bar. Enter one of these, then press Go, try the first one first.

① K // Player, try first
5691956
The new app. Sign-in uses an activation code.
② V1 OG, fallback
5153184
Older app. Username + password login.
4

Wait, then install

step 4 of 6

Downloader downloads the K // Player APK, about 30 seconds.

Tap Install when prompted → then Open.

If Downloader offers to delete the install file, say yes, the app is on your TV now.

5

Sign in with activation code

step 5 of 6

K // Player shows a 5-6 character code on your TV.

On your phone, sign in to ktckingztv.com/clientareaMy Services → your service → Pair a device.

Type the code from your TV. Submit. Your TV loads channels.

6

Start watching

step 6 of 6

Press Up for the channel list.

Arrow + OK to start a channel.

Down arrow for what's next; Back to leave.

If something didn't work

  • Both Downloader codes returned nothing? Check WiFi, Downloader needs internet to grab the install file. Settings → Network.
  • Pairing code doesn't work? Make sure your service is active in your account. The code is case-sensitive.
